Terms of service
Last updated October 1, 2026.
SpoofShield is operated by Tristin Von Gunten in Hallandale Beach, Florida ("we", "us"). By using the free check or buying a service you agree to these terms.
1. The free check
The check reads public DNS records for the domain you enter and reports what it finds. It is informational, provided as is, and reflects DNS at the moment it runs. DNS can change at any time.
2. Lockdown (one-time, per domain)
- We review your domain's email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) with you, make or guide the agreed changes, and roll DMARC to enforcement over about 30 days while monitoring reports.
- You give us the access we need (a screen-share while you are logged in, or a temporary delegate login) and approve the changes before we make them. You can remove our access at any time.
- You tell us which services send email as your business. Services you don't tell us about, or add later, may need to be authorized before their email passes checks.
- Pay after it works: we invoice the Lockdown fee once the domain scores an A on our check. Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice. If the domain doesn't reach an A within 30 days of your setup call, you owe nothing for Lockdown. If access or approvals we need are withheld, or changes we made are reversed by someone else, we may invoice for the work done, up to the Lockdown fee.
3. Guard (monthly, per domain)
- Guard includes weekly checks of the domain's email authentication, a look-alike domain watch, a monthly summary, and repair of problems we detect within one business day of detection, using the access you provide.
- Guard is billed monthly in advance until cancelled. Cancel any time by replying to any report email; it stops at the end of the paid month. We don't refund partial months.
4. What we can't promise
Email authentication stops others from sending email using your exact domain. It does not stop look-alike domains, stolen passwords, malware, or fraud that doesn't use your domain. Email providers such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo decide on their own how to handle any message. We don't guarantee delivery of any email or the absence of fraud.
5. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected service in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost data.
6. Payments
Prices are in U.S. dollars. We send invoices by email, and the invoice lists the ways to pay. If you pay by card, the card processor handles your card details; we never see the full card number.
7. Law
These terms are governed by Florida law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Broward County, Florida.
